Online Vendor Review: The Wedding Shoppe, Inc.

Buying a wedding gown or bridesmaids dress online can be scary; you just never know when it is going to show up or how it is going to look.

Thankfully I have had really great experiences with this very thing, and have been able to save a lot of money.
I recently wrote a post on SimplyBridal.com and actually just received a wedding gown that I will be using in an upcoming photo shoot (can't wait to post that). Shipping was fast and the dress arrived in great condition and is beautiful (again, can't wait to share pictures when I do the shoot). The only thing it needs is a quick steaming to get out some of the wrinkles.
It arrived in a nice white pouch and was vacuum sealed, which I thought was a nice touch. Here are some pictures to give you an idea:
Here are some snapshots of the dress. I ordered the Claire gown in white:

sorry the picture is so dark. But you get the idea.

ANYWAY: this post is not about SimplyBridal, it's about Wedding Shoppe, Inc. which has hundreds of designer bridesmaids dresses to choose from, as well as basically anything else you could think of for your wedding. They are an authorized dealer of all of their gowns, which is nice because you're not buying a knock off.

Lisa's wedding is in September and we found our dresses at another bridal salon and decided to buy them somewhere else because of

a. the bad customer service we received and

b. the price (which was astronomical).

We found the dresses on the Wedding Shoppe website for way less, and it was actually more convenient because everyone could order as they pleased.

I, being the procrastinator that I am, waited until the last minute, and shipping was going to be my enemy because it was listed as FOURTEEN WEEKS, which would have put me after the wedding. The nice thing is that there IS a rush cut feature, so I paid $40, got my dress way faster than I thought (it wasn't expected until late-August and I received it yesterday) and still paid less than I would have at the other salon.

Overall, I am very pleased with the results. The dress looks like the one we tried on in the store and has the same quality feel. The sizing charts were accurate so it fits perfectly (I did have measurements). Shipping was quick and the whole process was pretty seamless, although there was that stressful period of waiting for my ship date haha.

The ONLY thing wrong with the dress is that there are a lot of hanging strings throughout (see photos). I'm not horrified about this because I know it can be taken care of, but I just wasn't expecting it for the price (which ended up being about $180).

Here are photos of the dress, which is Bill Levkoff style 320 in Pewter (it looks very similar to the Claire gown above...what a nice combination that would be for a wedding!).

So, as you can see, some hanging threads and sketchy finishing. All in all a good dress and good experience, but (and I think this is a safe idea in all online ordering instances) make sure you have a good seamstress on hand, just in case! Mine is Addie at Custom Alterations, if you're in the Wooster
area :)
