Northeast Ohio Wedding Venue Spotlight: Outdoor Pavilions

I LOVE pavilion weddings. They are perfect for DIY brides on a budget because they can accommodate any style, can easily be dressed up, and the rental price can give you wiggle room if you need to rent heating/cooling in case of inclement weather (always something to consider in Northeast Ohio).
Luckily for us, we live in a part of Ohio where National, State and County parks abound. Most parks have pavilions or shelters, and while some are nicer than others, they are ALL able to be transformed with decorating. Click the title links below to take you to each venue's website for rental information.
Summit County Metro Parks
Many unique shelters and pavilions available to rent for a very low cost. Make sure you keep in mind that there are special permits that need to be obtained, and some various fees (all explained on their website). Make sure you know the setting (parking, restrooms, alcohol policy, etc.) But even with these fees, the cost is still very, very affordable: perfect for the DIY bride who wants to do everything herself. Check out the Tuscarawas shelter at Firestone Metro Park and the Pioneer Shelter at Goodyear Heights. Both have fireplaces and cost under $60 to rent (YES, SIXTY DOLLARS).

This is one of my favorite Northeast Ohio wedding venues, hands down. It is such a beautiful setting and so affordable to rent. There are a wide variety of pavilions and shelters available that hold anywhere from 60 to up to 390 people. Some are wooded, while others have beautiful lake front views. Reservations can be made online or by phone. Rates are up to $250. You have to adhere to park rules and times, which may require you to have an earlier reception, and alcohol is permitted with a special permit. This wedding shot by Julina Marie Photography is jaw-droppingly stunning and such a gorgeous example of what you can do at this AWESOME spot:
