Real Wedding: Anne and Jameson
11:19 AMA few months ago I posted pictures from a get-together my friend Annie had to make crafts for her wedding. I could hardly wait until May for her wedding to come, and now I am super excited to share the pictures with you, my dear readers :)
Like the weddings I posted last month (here and here), this one is filled to the brim with DIY, budget friendly details. If you haven't picked up on it by now, I will remind you: it IS possible to throw a gorgeous celebration on a budget. Each wedding I attended last month was unique and personal, and, as a guest, I really felt like the couple tried their hardest to make the celebration special for everyone.
The backstory: My husband and I have known Jameson forever and when he first introduced us to Anne, we knew something special had happened. Anne is smart, thoughtful and so practical, which is good for Jameson, because that practicality perfectly balances out Jameson's happy-go-lucky laid-backness. On the flip side, Jameson's qualities also bring out the goofy side of Anne. They are quite a match. I got the chance to get to know Anne a little better when we served together on a missions trip in Philadelphia last summer. Since then, it has been an honor getting to know her and I have loved witnessing her love story with Jameson unfold and come to a new chapter on their wedding day.
You've seen the crafts already, which I wrote about in the craft day post. The wedding was held at the home of Anne's parents, which is set back in the woods. The road up to the home was lined with the luminaries, and the tent for the ceremony and reception was decorated with the tissue paper poms. Jameson made the dance floor (which was beautiful), and the food served was a combination cater/home made. It was all the fun of backyard weddings with a big dose of elegance.
Favorite details: Anne wore her mom's wedding dress, which was altered to fit her style. Also, Anne isn't crazy about cake, so they had a donut cake instead, which was ridiculously cute.
The pictures:
Congratulations again to the new Mr. and Mrs.!
