My little girl is proof that the sweetest faces hide the most ornery personalities. For her second Halloween, I scored a SWEET last minute deal on a genuine Minnie Mouse costume for $6 (can't beat that!) and since she LOVES Minnie, I figured she would be super in to dressing up like her and walking around to get candy. Wrong. She threw a fit. Wrangling her into the costume, getting her into the wagon, coaxing her to keep the ears on for longer than two seconds so I could take pictures...drama. But whatever. I sometimes feel like the best pictures are the real ones, the ones that reflect all of the drama of having an 18 month old. I know some day I'll look back on these pictures and laugh :) Because seriously, she is just TOO CUTE.
oh wait, I'm not that upset!
never mind.
All smiles once we got to our friends' house and saw the pumpkins.

Photo Sessions: Todd & Mary's 19th Wedding Anniversary | Molly Stark Park, Louisville OH
I had the best time taking pictures of Todd and Mary. They were celebrating their 19th wedding anniversary, but act like they are still on their honeymoon (they are just absolutely the sweetest couple). Their love is contagious; I smiled during the entire session and then smiled again looking through their pictures. We are always told that marriage is the most perfect example we have of Christ's love for us, and it is just such a blessing and an inspiration to see how passionately and beautifully they are living out that example every day. I am so honored to know them! Anyway, enough rambling, here are some of my favorites from the night :)
Seriously, how sweet are they? I didn't even pose them for this, they would just start spontaneously dancing. Adorable.
P.S. Molly Stark is one of my FAVORITE places to shoot. It is just so wildly beautiful. Check out my Simply Bridal dress shoot here.

My great friend Crystal has two of the cutest, liveliest, funniest little girls I've ever met. We have lots of fun doing different photo shoots with them, and it helps me out because I get to practice my portrait photography on two pretty little models!
Crystal had the great idea to dress the girls up in her and her mom's wedding dresses for a photo shoot for Mother's Day. It was so fun seeing the girls react to being in wedding gowns, and the style of each dress fit each girl's personality perfectly. Little E is super glamorous, so mommy's silk beaded dress brought out her princess side, and little A is free spirited, so grandma's beautiful vintage lace gown fit well with her sunny disposition (I always forget how hard she is to capture, if I wait too long to press the shutter, she's off somewhere else singing or dancing haha).
Anyway, here are some of my favorites! I can't wait to do this with my little girl some day!!
This was her reaction when I asked her how she thought she would act on her wedding day.
Those eyelashes. In love.
Happy Mother's Day!

One of our biggest battles over at the Piggery is our chairs. When you first open a 102 year old historic venue, tables and chairs tend to be an unfortunate "back-burner" project, because building updates and projects take center stage. We HAVE tables and chairs, but they are all old mismatched cafeteria chairs in green and maroon (shudder). It got me thinking about other venues that I've been to that have horrid chairs that are hard to decorate around, so I turned to Pinterest to find some good ideas for girls who don't want to (or can't afford to!) shell out $1.25 per chair for covers.
If you're lucky enough to find a venue with COOL ugly chairs that is ;)

But really, the best thing to remember is that Pinterest is largely a collection of STYLED shoots and million dollar weddings. Don't stress out about your chairs; they will be the farthest thing from your mind on your wedding day. Read this article for extra assurance.
